Understanding the Project Scope
Popcloud is a simple and elegant app designed for music lovers. It comes with alot of interesting features which allows users to connect, listen and download their favorite music with ease. Its beloved for its gorgeous, playful interface and tons of delightful Interactions throughout the app.
The project scope was fairly open ended as we had to had to completely reverse the project scope to the earlier explorations which involves the use of Neomorphic Designs. When neomorphism was one of the design trends for 2020, i had to just jump on it and see how it goes with the popcloud music app. I sent the wireframes and design systems to Jones and he wasn't impressed. Yes he is right neomorphism is new and its not as easy as it looks. I had no other option other than putting a stop to the earlier explorations. After some few weeks i sent in what he requested and he was happy. But going forward i shared some insights and moodboards with the team and they were impressed and bought the idea immediately. After some days Dr Jones called me and said Sam i just saw the moodboards and i must say they are great. Pls lets go back to the earlier exploration.😊

Iconography
I had to create a smooth bump-like effects for the icons to give them more prominence. I tried out three changes to help the buttons stand out a little more. Even though its against the low contrast principle of Neomorphic Design. I also added an overlay effects to the pressed state of the button to distinguish its pressed state from the unpressed state. Finally i added an overlay to the unpressed buttons to show that its a button.
The Spark and Login
Music is not required for life. It adds so much to life - that extra spark. After gathering ideas and inspirations i was able to create that perfect music app with an incredible login system. The first decision taken was to keep the color palette, fonts and structure of the app pretty similar to the approved moodboards.
It Feels Different
Popcloud bucks the enterprise app trend of dull language that leaves the users lost and unengaged. Instead each piece of a copy is seen as an opportunity to be playful. From the login screen to the homepage Popcloud provides injection of funs on boring days. Throughout the entire app everything to playfully jump around and pop off the screen.
Search , Download , Customize
Popcloud audience loves to download music, customize it to thier taste and share music content. So i created Designs that would maximize access to a variety of different contents types and formats while minimizing the efforts to navigate across tons of tabs and pages.
Pushing the limits
In building a music mobile app, users can now search by destinations, filter by activities, and find music dynamically all while maintaining the speed and perfomance of the app. By sweating the details on the artboards created i was able to create a micro-animation and moment of delights.
